Professor Maggie Popkin and PhD candidate Arielle Suskin (pictured here) presented papers at the recent 2023 Annual Meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) in New Orleans. Professor Popkin spoke about Roman gladiator knives and the objectification of gladiators in ancient Rome, while Arielle spoke about ancient Greek artisan vases from Athens.  Congratulations especially to Arielle on her first of hopefully many appearances at the AIA!
