Congratulations to Ph.D. candidate Angie Verduci and MA student Marina Savchenkova who have been selected to participate in the 22nd Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies that will take place on March 16-18 2023 on Harvard’s campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Angie will present her paper entitled “Reading Love as Death in the “Camera d’Amore” at the Castle of Sabbionara d’Avio.” Angie’s conference paper derives from her current dissertation project, which explores the imagery of the Triumph of Death in Late medieval Italian frescoes. Marina will give a talk based on her qualifying paper, “Dividing Spaces, Blending Spaces: Frames in the Getty Apocalypse as Interpretative, Performative, and Mnemonic Devices.” The conference will be held in person.
