In their co-authored study “Transferring Jerusalem to Moscow: Maksim Grek’s Letter and its Afterlife,” The Russian Review (April 2023), Justin Willson and Ashley Morse bring to light a new primary source which explains why copies of Jerusalem’s monuments were rare in the East Slavic world.
