Golden Age of Cleveland Art: Catalogue Signing and Gallery Talk with Prof. Henry Adams

Where: Cleveland History Center

When: Saturday, March 19, 2022, 1pm-3pm.

Cleveland Arts Prize will celebrate the publication of the catalogue “The Golden Age of Cleveland Art” with a book-signing and giveaways of catalogues at the History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society.

The catalogue accompanies the exhibition “The Golden Age of Cleveland Art; 1900-1945,” the most important show of Cleveland art in nearly thirty years, which is on view at the History Center until April 3, 2022. Written by curator Henry Adams, Ruth Coulter Heede Professor of Art History at CWRU, it explores how Cleveland’s artistic golden age was aligned with the city’s extraordinary growth in this period, whe it was a center for innovation inindustry, business, science and technology, not unlike Silicon Valley today.

The book-signing and catalogue giveaway will be followed by remarks from Kelly Falcone-Hall, Preseident and CEO of the Western Reserve Historical Society, and a gallery tour and discussion of the exhibition with Henry Adams and the celebrated art dealer, Michael Wolf.
