Doctoral Candidate Arielle Suskin participated in the American Numismatic Society’s Eric P. Newman Graduate Seminar in Numismatics

This summer, doctoral candidate Arielle Suskin participated in the American Numismatic Society’s Eric P. Newman Graduate Seminar in Numismatics. Arielle researched a fascinating series of coins minted by leaders of the First Jewish Revolt against the Roman Empire (66-73 CE), which use agricultural imagery associated with the Jewish harvest holiday of Sukkot as emblems of Jewish independence. Arielle recently presented her research at an invited presentation to the ANS and its members as part of the ANS Long Table Lecture Series (you can view Arielle’s talk here). She also contributed a post to the ANS blog about the Jewish Revolt Coins and Sukkot. Congratulations to Arielle on these accomplishments, and happy Sukkot to those who celebrate!
