Call for Applications: HILLS Doctoral Symposium

Doctoral students in the College of Arts and Sciences whose research and teaching areas are in the arts, humanities, and humanities-related fields are invited to apply for the 2021-22 Humanities in Leadership Learning Series (HILLS) Doctoral Symposium, scheduled for December 12-13, 2021.

This symposium is a core component of the HILLS program, which aims to develop and promote leadership potential for doctoral students in the humanities, arts, and humanities-related disciplines, with a particular commitment to promoting diversity in higher education administration. The HILLS Symposium will allow participants to examine, discuss, and explore issues, challenges, and opportunities for arts and humanities scholars in higher education leadership. The goal of the symposium is to provide students with the possibilities of serving in administrative leadership roles before they complete their doctorates and begin the next phase of their academic careers. It will be co-facilitated by HILLS Co-Principal Investigators, Joy Bostic and Timothy Beal, with support from HILLS Principal Investigator, Provost Ben Vinson III and Dean Joy K. Ward.

To be eligible, candidates’ disciplines must be in the arts, humanities, or a humanities-related field. Successful candidates will be provided a $2,000 stipend for their participation.
