There is currently a photo exhibit being put on by Abe Frajndlich and students as well as a Butoh dance being performed by Minami Azu (an internationally known Tokyo based dancer). The photographs in this exhibition feature Minami Azu, international Butoh dance master from Tokyo, Japan. She has performed at dance festivals in Paris, Venice, New York, and Tokyo. The dance originated in Japan after World War II and expressed a reaction to the aftermath of the atomic events.
Abe Frajndlich will also be speaking to the SPE (Society of Photographic Education) Sunday, March 10 at 2pm in the Art Studio Gallery. SPE’s national conference is in Cleveland March 7-10.
The opening to the photo exhibition and the dance performance was highly successful! The exhibit runs through March 10th at the Art Studio Gallery on the corner of Adelbert and Murray Hill.
