Students in Art History are encouraged to intern with local arts institutions.  Below please find a rolling list of opportunities that have been advertised in the Cleveland area.

Summer Internship Program at TCF

Summer Internship Program at TCF  is open to college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates interested in a career in the nonprofit/public sector and the application deadline is February 15th, 2022.  Complete eligibility requirements and program information are available at the link above!

This summer, two nonprofit host sites will immerse their interns in arts and cultureprogramming and projects:

  • FRONT Exhibition Company  – Great fit for an intern interested in museum studies, art history, and/or arts administration. Provides unique opportunities to engage with renowned artists, arts industry professionals, and community members in a very exciting public facing event, FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art
  • Arts Impact – With a strong focus on development and marketing, an intern will help to support Arts Impact’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

Arts Intern’s Winter Program

Arta Intern Winter 2021 applications are now open! Arts Intern pairs financial aid-dependent, undergraduate college students with paid positions at arts and cultural organizations, where they can gain real world experience and forge professional relationships. Arts Intern has been offering immersive internships at museums and cultural institutions for over 20 years.

Past participating institutions include the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and the Cleveland Botanical Garden. Positions are available in a range of departments, including Curatorial, Collections, Exhibitions, Education, Design, and Marketing.

Gallery / Programming Internship

Zygote Press is excited to offer a Gallery and Programming Internship, with a focus on exhibition planning, organizing and execution – as well as assisting with Exhibition-related and General Programs. The student should be pursuing studies in art, art history, art education, or a related field – and have a love of the arts. It would be a hybrid position, working mostly remotely, but would also involve coming in to Zygote’s Shop to work with our Senior Programs Manager (socially distanced of course).

All interns must provide proof of vaccination.

Academic credit available upon successful completion of the internship.

Start date: Ongoing
