At the 15th Annual Graduate Awards Ceremony on May 1, 2019, Friends of Art presented awards to Reed O’Mara for the best paper by an MA student, to Samantha Truman for the best paper by a PhD student and to Dominique deLuca for the best overall performance by a PhD student.

On February 24th, 2019, Michael Weil, PhD, CWRU ’07 gave a talk entitled “Stieglitz’s Dream O’Keeffe’s Reality“, to a standing room only audience at the Linsalata Alumni Center.
The Friend of Friends Faculty Lecture was held on February 3rd, 2019, was given by Maggie Popkin who spoke on Specular Souvenirs: Sports Memorabilia in the Roman Empire.
On Saturday afternoon, December 1st, 2018, Friends of Art and guests made their way to the iconic Rose Iron Works for a tour of the facilities.
Co-chaired by graduate students Jacob Emmett and Angelica Verducci on October 26th, 2018, the day-long Cleveland Symposium featured papers on Built Environments and Performances of Power. Keynote speaker, Dr. John Hopkins, Assistant Professor of Art History and Classical Studies at Rice University, specializes in Architecture of the Roman Empire. The writers of the three winning papers can be found below, along with pictures of the graduate speakers of the symposium.
