Professor Elina Gertsman’s exceptional mentoring has been acknowledged very publicly by Provost Vinson! Dr. Gertsman is the recipient of the 2019 John S. Diekhoff Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Mentoring.

The John S. Diekhoff Mentoring Award is presented to two full-time faculty members who make exemplary contributions to the education and development of graduate students at Case Western Reserve University.  It is  is given to those who serve as outstanding mentors to graduate students, connect them with experts in their discipline, engage them academically, and actively promote their professional development.
